New Format.

I was thinking about it this weekend, and also discussed it with Mom, and I've decided that the format I've been using for this blog is too formal and is obviously not conducive to discussions or the sharing of our shared love of reading.

I'd like to change it from being me asking too-scholarly questions to more of a review/what are you reading/did you like it kind of atmosphere.

I am brainstorming a bit more about what the details of the new format will be and would be glad to take suggestions, but would like to start this transition by inviting you to become an author. With more authors, hopefully this will become less student-teacher and more "we all enjoy reading, let's enjoy it together."

So for the first step, please comment on this post and let me know if you'd like to be an author. Hopefully I'll have my brainstorming done and the new format ready for tomorrow's post.

Also, if you aren't already receiving posts by e-mail and would like to, let me know that too.

  1. You know I want to be an author! I think it would be terrific if we could individually post what we are reading. Once in a while, we could have a theme like "name your favorite children's book" or "what book made a great movie".
I'm going to continue to try to keep up with the Top 100 list but I think I will enjoy this blog more if we were sharing some of the other books we are reading.
Thank you for taking this on. I think it's terrific!

  2. Well, I will be glad to play along. :)
Although, I must admit, up front, I can not promise to post everyday. I will have 5 blogs to keep up with, as well as school. That is a lot of computer time, to say the least.
However, I think the new format is inviting and fun. I enjoyed the old one, don't get me wrong. The problem is I am still stuck on page 44 in the first book, so I am far behind where you are...
But, with this format, I will not be back younder, but in the running. :)
    So, please, count me in.

  3. Me too! I'll play! I'm trying to catch up on the 100 list, but I have a few other things lined up too so this should be fun.

  4. I haven't been able to read the blogs at home or post in a long time, but I think we have the bugs temporarily taken care of. I like the new format and want to play too! I tried to read Main Street but couldn't get through it very well. I hope to start reading #98 but even if I don't, I will still participate in the blog. Great idea!
